The New York City (NYC) Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Program (HEPP) have collaborated to provide a second training to prepare NYC's funeral directors specifically for mass fatality management during a pandemic influenza outbreak (PI). This training is supported by Grant Number U3REP080085-01-00 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of NYC's emergency disaster preparedness efforts to develop decedent surge capacity in NYC.

The purpose of this training is to inform funeral directors of the NYC OCME's plan to manage large numbers of decedents during a pandemic influenza outbreak and to provide guidance with regard to how a PI event may affect their ability to respond to decedent management.

We are offering three sessions. Participants should only sign-up for one session.

Wednesday, March 10th - Morning Session - 9:30a-12:00p
Wednesday, March 10th - Afternoon Session - 2:00p-4:30p
Thursday, March 11th - Morning Session - 9:30a-12:00p

• This training is being offered to NYS licensed funeral directors practicing within the five boroughs of NYC.

• Participants will earn 2.5 CEU provided by the NYS Bureau of Funeral Directors.

• Participants will be asked to arrive approximately 30 minutes early to ensure successful and timely sign in.

• Participants will be asked to present your pocket card and identification upon sign in.

• The training will be hosted at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, 421 East 26th Street, New York, NY 10016, Second Floor Auditorium. I have attached for your convenience, directions to the training and local parking options.
